There might be a lot of questions on your mind, such as:

  • Can you overcharge a scooter battery?
  • Can you leave an Okinawa electric scooter on charge overnight? We shall answer a few of your questions here for your peace of mind.
  • The following are some Do’s & Don’ts regarding a Lithium-ion battery for a safer EV experience –
  1. Only OEM-specified chargers for specific li-ion battery types for Okinawa electric scooter should be used. Do not interchange or use any other non-genuine e-scooter battery charger.
  2. Store your li-ion batteries at room temperature.
  3. Please do not charge the li-ion batteries within 1 hour after use of the scooter.
  4. If the battery becomes hot, emits an odor, deforms, or exhibits any other abnormal behavior while in use, please stop all operations immediately, isolate and store separately, and notify the appropriate service engineer.
  5. If the Okinawa e-scooter is not used for an extended period of time (more than one month), please remove detachable battery and charge it to a half-saturated state (after discharging, charge with the charger for 1.5 to 2 hours), then store it in a cool and dry place (the optimal temperature range is 5 °C to 25 °C), and charge it for 1.0 hour every three months.
  6. Do not leave the Okinawa electric scooter detachable battery at 5% power for an extended period of time.
  7. Do not charge the Okinawa electric scooter detachable battery for more than 2-3 hrs. maximum hours at a time & do not charge the battery overnight.
  8. Charge the Okinawa electric scooter detachable battery with a 240-watt, 15-amp socket with 3 pin socket with proper earthing connection in the socket.
  9. Charge in a well-ventilated area.
  10. Store the Okinawa scooter detachable battery and battery charger in a clean, dry, and ventilated location, away from corrosive substances, at least 2 meters away from fire and heat sources, away from flammable substances, and disconnect the charger from the battery.
  11. One of the most damaging things you can do to any battery is leaving it in a discharged condition. It is recommended that you recharge your battery within a maximum of 3 days after its last use.
  12. Your Okinawa electric scooter detachable battery should be stored and recharged in a dry environment between 0 degrees Centigrade to 35 degrees Centigrade.
  13. Don’t charge the detachable battery in direct Sunlight. To clean your electric scooter battery just use a damp cloth. Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  14. Do not short the terminals or open the casing. There are no serviceable parts inside and doing so would invalidate your warranty.
  15. Do not drop, throw or puncture the battery.
  16. Do not solder anything directly to the terminals.
  17. Do not charge with a Lead Acid charger.

What preventive measures can be taken regarding battery exposure to water?

  1. Do not immerse the detachable battery in water or any other liquid.
  2. Do not wash the Okinawa electric scooter with a battery inside.
